D-Day: battle of the weather forecasts

Weather forecaster Peter Gibbs explains why getting the weather right was crucial for the success of the Allied invasion of Normandy in 1944. The forecasts in those pre-computer days were nowhere near as accurate as today so General Eisenhower had two competing teams of meteorologists compile predictions for early June 1944. They came up with two very different forecasts for the day that had been originally earmarked for the landings.
