The first trees ever to grow on Earth were very different to the ones we are familiar with today. Experts have studied fossils from 373 million year old trees in China and found their interior structure was far more intricate than those of trees today.
Dr Chris Berry, senior lecturer at Cardiff University's School of Earth and Ocean Sciences and co-author of the study, spoke to Good Morning Wales about the findings.
