Jackie's Girl - My Life With The Kennedy Family
Kathy McKeon was 19 yeas old when she left her Monaghan farm for a new life in America.
She'd never been out of Inniskeen, but in 1964, her father took her to Dublin and she caught a plane to America to look for work. Little did Kathy know then how her life would turn out. She spent 13 years as personal assistant to the former First Lady Jackie Kennedy and helped raise Jackie's two children, Caroline and John, and developed a lasting friendship with the family which not many people knew about until now.
When she spoke to John Toal from her home in Long Island, NY, she began by describing going for her job interview at Jackie's famous Upper East Side apartment at 1040 Fifth Avenue.
