Jolly good move brought Bale to Spurs

Former Spurs manager Martin Jol has shed light on how he brought Gareth Bale to White Hart Lane in 2007. Aware of interest from Man United, Jol explained he used β€˜every trick in the book’ to sign Bale from Southampton, including reassuring his mother that the 17 year old would play in the first team. Bale developed into a global star at Spurs before moving to Real Madrid in 2013.
