A Certain Ratio talk to Clare Crane about their new album reissues

A Certain Ratio are releasing a series of long awaited reissues and will follow up with a live show in Manchester on December 16th.

The first albums set for release on 24 November include the band’s debut release, The Graveyard And The Ballroom, which originally came out on Factory Records in December 1979. And albums To Each (1981) and Force (1986) will also be released in this collection on coloured vinyl and CD.

Formed in 1978, the band had various members throughout their career, and a core line-up of Jeremy Kerr, Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson. They have gone on to influence generations of musicians - from Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Happy Mondays, Franz Ferdinand, ESG, Factory Floor and Andrew Weatherall.

After recording their debut The Graveyard And The Ballroom the band decamped to New York to record the follow up To Each with Martin Hannett and that’s where Martin Moscrop explained to Clare Crane that things really got interesting for the band…
