β€˜Bayern appointing Heynckes is desperate’

Journalist Raphael Honigstein believes Bayern Munich are in β€œdesperation territory” with their appointment of former coach Jupp Heynckes as manager for a fourth spell.

The German champions have confirmed the 72-year-old will take charge until the end of the season following Carlo Ancelotti's sacking.

German football writer Honigstein says the decision β€œbuys” Bayern time so they can pursue Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann.
