Is the US losing Middle East friends to Russia?
King Salman, the first reigning Saudi monarch ever to visit Russia, has agreed joint investment deals worth several billion dollars, during a meeting with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
It provides much needed investment for the Russian economy, which has been struggling to deal with lower oil prices and Western sanctions.
Paul Wasserman, a Russia expert with Global Risk Insights, tells us it is also a sign of the United States losing influence in the Middle East.
