I converted to Islam but still fear the old Gods

Deep within Indonesia’s forests there are hundreds of indigenous faiths, practised for centuries. They are not recognised by the state. Rebecca Henschke travels through some of the world’s last remaining rainforest to meet the Orang Rimba – the people of the jungle. There are those who are trying to preserve their nomadic, animist way of life and those who are being forced by the state to convert to Islam. Mijak gave up his old faith and converted to Islam – but, he says – he still fears the old Gods and is now not welcome in his father’s house
