Rowing: Tarrant hoping to end season on a high

Mat Tarrant, of the GB men's four, wants to put 'turbulent' season to bed with a flourish.

A crew change and inconsistent results in the men's four mean Tarrant is more determined than ever to end the season well.

"We've had a very turbulent season," he told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "At Henley Regatta we had a turning point where we suddenly felt like we had figured something out as a crew.

"The crew as it is, we have a good mixture between focusing on what needs to be done but also having fun with it."

And Tarrant says that he knows the magnitude of the World Championships in Florida.

"I definitely do get nervous, I think I went through a period where I wasn't getting nervous, and I think those were the periods where I underperformed.

"If you can relax and control your emotions when you're on the start line, as soon as the green light goes...those nerves just disappear."
