Reading FC: Stam's possession football pays off
Royals boss Jaap Stam was delighted to get the win against Villa with his passing style.
Reading FC had 67% possession in the game and defeated Steve Bruce's men 2-1 for their first league win of the season.
"We always come to talk about possession," Stam told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "Playing very good possession but also going forward and creating opportunities to score.
"I'm very happy about the attitude of the players, what they brought to the game, the accuracy of passing, the quality in going forward."
Stam admits that this is an extension of the style he was trying to impose last season.
"Last season, basically when we started, you need to work a lot on the basic things that you want to improve in the team and in how you want to play.
"The next season you want to add certain things in making a difference again."
