Is China's investigation into social media sites more censorship?

Top Chinese social media sites, like WeChat and Weibo, are accused of failing to comply with cyber laws, but some observers believe an investigation into the web services is designed to reinforce strict control over content and comment on the internet.

A blogger based in Beijing, with a large following on social media, who uses the name "Orange," says the Chinese Government's cyber clampdown is aimed at stifling debate, ahead of a key meeting of the ruling Communist Party.
