Maidenhead United: Points tally not matching performances

Magpies boss Alan Devonshire realises that good displays don't always translate into league points.

Despite holding their own in the opening two games of the season, the Maidenhead boss knows his side need to pick up points sooner or later.

"It's early days, it's only two games in," he told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire's Adam Whitty. "You can lose six, seven games on the trot in this league.

"We've done okay, but we've only got a point on the board out of a possible six, so that isn't the best even if the performances were okay."

And Devonshire wants to prevent goals being conceded as a matter of priority.

"I want to defend better, from set pieces and all that.

"You can't try and defend when you're standing behind someone, you have got to read it and come across people."
