For our Queer Icons series, Stella Duffy champions Carol, a novel by Patricia Highsmith. First published under a different name (The Price of Salt) in 1952, Carol is a love story set in fifties New York.
Stella Duffy is a theatre-maker and writer, whose latest novel is The Hidden Room. She is also founder of the Fun Palaces campaign.
