Pierce: Muguruza celebrations 'brought a tear to my eye'
Mary Pierce says Garbine Muguruza's celebrations after beating Venus Williams to win her first Wimbledon title brought a tear to my eye'.
It is 14th seed Muguruza's second Grand Slam title after her French Open triumph over Serena Williams in 2016.
Ex-French Open champion Mary Pierce said: "I loved that reaction from Garbine Muguruza after she won.
"It was almost like she couldn't believe that she actually won it.
"It actually brought a tear to my eye to see how she reacted and it was just incredible, so happy for her."
The 23-year-old saved two set points and won the last nine games in a 7-5 6-0 victory under the Centre Court roof.
