Plea to leave 'abandoned' seal pups alone
Members of the public have been urged not to attempt to rescue what they wrongly believe to be abandoned seal pups.
The Sealife Centre in Oban says many are left by their mothers, temporarily, to allow them to fish.
But once the pups are disturbed by humans or handed into the sanctuary, they have to be raised as orphans.
The sanctuary said it had rescued 10 seal pups in the past week when it normally rescues about four each year.
