New Royals signing Pelle Clement wants first team game time under Jaap Stam.

Clement feels that at Reading, unlike at Ajax, he can push on his career with more first team game time.

"I want to be part of the first team," Clement told 麻豆约拍 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley.

"At Ajax it was not as exciting as Jaap could offer, so that's why [I came]."

And Clement revealed that Stam had first made contact with him before the play-off final defeat to Huddersfield.

"I had a conversation with Jaap on the phone...I watched it at home, and I knew something could happen.

"Unfortunately it is another year in the Championship, but we will go for the play-offs again, and hopefully it will be a better end to this year."
