Could satellites improve internet access across Africa?
Google is testing balloons to beam the broadband to rural areas and Facebook is experimenting with drones to increase internet access, but Inmarsat believes using satellites is the most effective way to connect more of Africa to the internet.
Inmarsat's Chief Executive, Rupert Pearce, tells the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Russell Padmore satellite coverage is more effective than laying cables in areas surrounding cities in Africa.
