Edwards – Warburton should be considered to start

Sir Gareth Edwards has suggested possibly changing the Lions team in order to get it β€œa little bit more dynamic.” But the Welsh legend has urged not to make too many changes. β€œThere is always a danger when the result has gone against you, to overchange.” Edwards conceded that a couple of moments could have changed the course of the first game against the All Blacks, which the British and Irish Lions lost 30-15. β€œI would keep changes to a minimum.”

One change he would consider to make for the next match, is to give Sam Warburton a starting place. Edwards stressed that it wasn’t out of emotion or nationality, but that the Welsh player could give the team something extra. β€œWhen Sam Warburton came on, we looked a lot more effective in the tackle area … He is a big favourite of mine, and I know how he can react to something like this.”
