Brexit Negotiations Between Britain and EU Begin

Formal talks on Britain leaving the European Union have begun in Brussels.

Formal talks on Britain leaving the European Union have begun in Brussels. We get the views of British expatriates in Brussels on what they hope from the negotiations, and Natalie Sarkic-Todd of the media network Euractiv offers her perspective on rights for citizens from across Europe who are living in the UK. And Valerio de Molli of the Italian think-tank Ambrosetti explains why Italian politicians and businesses believe there's money to be made whatever happens in the Brexit negotiations. Also in the programme, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Theo Leggett reports from the Paris Air Show where Airbus have unveiled a bigger and more fuel efficient version of their A380 super-jumbo plane. The French national rail operator SNCF hopes to have a driverless version of their TGV high-speed trains running within six years. David Briginshaw is editor of International Railway Journal, and tells us whether rail unions could derail the plan. Plus our regular commentator Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times is back with some key thoughts on gender politics and straight-talking.
