Reading FC: Williams gutted by McShane red

The Reading midfielder knew that McShane's red card would make the game very difficult.

Danny Williams was pleased with how Reading FC responded after Paul McShane's red card in the play-off semi-final first leg away at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

"The red card didn't help in the end," Williams told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I don't know if it was a red.

"Like always, the referee got a bit intimidated by the crowd, because I think he touched his pocket to pull out the yellow, then he speaks to the linesman and gives him the red card."

And Williams doesn't want to approach the return leg any differently to any other game.

"We have three days to rest the legs to recover, and that is key now.

"It's just like any other week in the Championship really...it's the same routine really."
