Royals boss Jaap Stam wants to finish season with a flourish and make a good season great.

Despite his pre-season prediction that 10th would be an achievement for Reading FC, Jaap Stam is hoping that the Royals continue to defy the critics.

"I think everybody needs to be very happy already with where we ended up," Stam told 麻豆约拍 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "Nobody expected us to end up in the top six.

"If you have the opportunity and the chance to make it to the final or go to the Premier League, you want to take that and you want to go for it."

And Stam says there is nothing in particular to change ahead of the play-off campaign.

"We are not going to be changing a lot of things.

"I can only say that within two games...certain things are at stake in a short period.

"Everybody knows what to do in these two games to get results."
