Brexit negotiations to start July or August

Talks between the UK and the remaining 27 states may not start until July, or even after August, says the vice president of the European Parliament.

Mairead McGuinness, an Irish MEP, spoke to Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn and Conservative MP Dominic Raab about the negotiations and the importance of the UK-Northern Ireland border.

It came after a German newspaper cited an EU source over European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker's meeting with Theresa May at Downing Street, to say the UK PM was "in a different galaxy" and Mr Juncker was "ten times more sceptical" about the prospects for a deal upon leaving the meeting.
