Zimbabwe in 'goats for loans' policy
The government of Zimbabwe has come up with a bright new idea to help people in the country borrow money. Under legislation introduced in parliament this week, borrowers would be allowed to register "movable" assets, including motor vehicles and machinery, as collateral. Peta Thornycroft is a freelance journalist in Zimbabwe. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Marie Keyworth asked her why the government were doing this. (Picture: boy drinks goat milk on a family farm.
