Can Trump thaw relations with Moscow?
It was two degrees in the Russian capital today but the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson could be forgiven for thinking it was somewhat colder. His meetings today with President Putin and the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov were never going to be easy. Mr Tillerson had hoped to persuade Moscow to end its support for Syria but there seemed to be little progress.
So are efforts to build a new relationship between Moscow and Washington already dead?
