How long will South Africa's economy take to recover from junk?

South Africa's economy is facing a crisis since the ratings agency Standard and Poors downgraded the country's credit status to junk.

Foreign investors have been spooked by President Jacob Zuma reshuffling his cabinet and firing the respected finance minister, Pravin Gordhan and fund managers will be forced to divert investment elsewhere, a blow to efforts to revive the troubled economy.

Christie Viljoen, an economist at KPMG in Capetown, has studied the experience of other countries relegated to junk by the credit ratings agencies and he tells the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Russell Padmore how long it could take South Africa to recover?
