Vatican Bank taken off Italian 'blacklist'

The Vatican Bank has sometimes been called God's bank - because it is owned by the Roman Catholic Church. Which makes it all the more surprising perhaps that for years it has been on a blacklist by the authorities in neighbouring Italy. The Vatican is the worldwide headquarters of the Roman Catholic church. Geographically it is inside the Italian capital, Rome - but officially, it's a separate country, subject to its own law. Since Pope Francis took over - there have been big efforts to clean up the Vatican Bank. And now the Italian authorities have removed it from their blacklist. Alex Ritson asked the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Rome correspondent, David Willey, what was going on? Picture: Pope Francis. Photo by Franco Origlia/Getty Images.
