The Royals boss says getting the win over Blackburn was incredibly important for the side.

Jaap Stam watched his side gain their third win in succession against Blackburn on Tuesday night, and was pleased to get yet another home win.

"It's an important win," he told 麻豆约拍 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "They needed their points in a relegation battle as well.

"We couldn't, especially in the first twenty minutes [of the second half], control the game, because they were having most of the time on the ball.

"I'm not really happy with how we played in the second half, but of course very happy with the result."

He was also full of praise for top scorer Yann Kermorgant, who got two goals against Blackburn.

"He's a quality player, everybody knows that...in heading the ball he's got a lot of quality, he's real class.

"I was a defender, I think it is easier heading a ball as a defender...if you're attacking a ball, you need to look at where it is coming from, the height, the defender, the goalie, the angle you need to head it s it falls in the net.

"He's got a lot of quality in what he is doing."
