Cut & Splice 2017: Katherine Young’s bow breath crow
A binaural recording of American composer Katherine Young’s work bow breath crow, performed by Distractfold at Hallé St Peters in Manchester as part of the Cut & Splice festival, an event curated by the ensemble in partnership with Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 and Sound and Music, the national charity for new music in the UK. This work, for amplified string trio and spatialised electronics, is the first in a cycle of pieces for strings, bassoon, electronics and sounding objects developed in close collaboration with Distractfold’s Linda Jankowska.
