The Golf Hour Podcast

Join Radio Wales Sport as we discuss the future of the sport of golf in Wales.

There’s just one week to go before the first golf major of the season - the Masters. Presenter Ian Hunt is joined by reporter James Pontin and golf journalist John Hopkins to discuss the sport of golf in Wales, as once again Ian Woosnam will be the sole Welsh player in the field. Last year he said he wouldn't play again but the 1991 champion has reconsidered, he tells us why. We also hear from the leading Welsh player currently on the European Tour, Stuart Manley, and what about the potential stars of the future? Who are they and is Wales doing enough to nurture the next generation? There’s also the remarkable story of Stewart Harris - a former soldier who has used golf to aid his recovery - both physically and mentally - after traumatic injuries on duty in Afghanistan. Stewart is now helping others as a Golf Development Wales Inclusive Ambassador.
