The animators say: We decided to use this clip for our animation as we loved the imagery described by both Alan and Victoria, and the calm and beautiful nature of what was being talked about was something we were all really inspired by. We really wanted to show the passion for the beach that Alan and Victoria have so decided to use physical objects we collected from our local beach to create the animation as well as using simple cut out paper shapes and little 3D models. We visited Sea Palling beach along the Norfolk coast as we all study at Norwich University of the Arts and collected items such as drift wood, sand and shells as well as beach litter as this provided us with a variety of colours and textures we can use as well as cleaning up the beach, which helps the environment and keeps the beach enjoyable and clean for families that will be visiting together similarly to how Alan and Victoria did.
