Rhys Mwyn: "The feel-good factor of Cool Cymru led to devolution"

The 1990s was the decade when computers replaced typewriters, portable CD players replaced the Walkman, and renting films on VHS tapes was still a thriving blockbuster business. It was also the decade when Welsh music went global as bands like Catatonia, the Manic Street Preachers and Super Furry Animals rose from obscurity into the mainstream music scene. Someone who remembers the era very well is Anrhefn frontman and musician Rhys Mwyn.

The 'Cool Cymru' phenomenon put Wales firmly on the map, and its story is told in the new Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Wales series 'Wales in the Nineties'.
