The changing design of cigarette packets
The government announced last year that the UK would become the first country in Europe to move to standardised plain packaging for cigarette packets. The deadline is this May.
Robert Opie, consumer historian at the London Museum of Brands explains how the branding has changed over the last century and what marketing tactics the tobacco industry has used to attract new customers.
