IPL Players Under the Hammer

We anticipate the start of the IPL with the players' auction looming, we assess rise of India's blind cricket team, and discuss Joe Root's promotion as England's Test captain.

The Indian Premier League is on the horizon with the players' auction taking place on Monday, so we bring you the inside story of how the biggest stars in world cricket are sold, by talking to IPL auctioneer Richard Madley.

Meanwhile, the Indian blind cricket team are the best side in the world - yet again! India successfully defended its title at the T20 World Cup on home soil after thrashing arch rivals Pakistan by nine wickets. Their coach, Patrick Rajkumar, tells us what the achievement of lifting the trophy means to him and the country, and we ask whether the sport will be fully supported by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

And as Joe Root takes the reigns as England’s new Test captain, we discuss the challenges of stepping up from a player to the skipper and what the necessary traits are to be a success in the role.
