Basil Kirchin on Quantum Music
A clip from an archive Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ interview with controversial composer Basil Kirchin, in which he explains his theory of recording the natural world and then slowing down the sounds in the studio to 'quantumize' the notes. He explored this technique on his albums Worlds Within Worlds and Quantum in the seventies, though they remained largely unheard at the time.
Originally broadcast on Mixing It, Radio 3, in August 2003.
