Listeners talk about the pressures they've faced to fund social care
Peter McManus from Winchester has told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent's Sasha Twining about the pressures he's faced over the social care system.
He supported his wife through eight years of needing nursing home care, costing around Β£50,000 a year.
Peter's wife Margaret sadly passed away late last year after a battle with Alzheimers
He told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent that he had to sell his home and almost became penniless to fund the care.
After hearing Peter's story listeners got in touch with their stories and Martina Kane from the Alzheimer's Society explained where families need help.
