IMF Board Split Over Greece Bailout

A disagreement at the International Monetary Fund marks a new act in Greece's debt drama.

A disagreement at the International Monetary Fund marks a new act in Greece's debt drama. The IMF says its board is split over how dangerous Greece's indebtedness is, and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ economics correspondent Andrew Walker explains the significance, whilst our regular economic commentator Roger Bootle assesses the likely impact of the split on the country's financial lifeline. And Greek radio reporter Katerina Batzaki tells us how Greece's economic crisis is affecting its citizens. Also in the programme, the British government is urging businesses to increase the proportion of their workforce aged in their 50s and 60s. Andy Briggs is chief executive of the insurance company Aviva Life, and the UK government's Business Champion for Older Workers; he explains the benefits employing older workers can bring. Mining executives from around the world have gathered at the Mining Indaba in Capetown, South Africa, from where the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Matthew Davies reports on widespread relief at rising prices for many metals and minerals. Plus as machines get cleverer, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Rory Cellan-Jones reports on what artificially intelligent robots can, and can't, do.
