Papirosn sung by the Menorah Synagogue Choir
The song, sung in Yiddish, paints a picture of a boy standing sadly, with silent begging eyes, barely protected from the rain, and no strength to keep walking. All he has is a basket of cheap, dry cigarettes; papirosn. You can almost sense the innocent despair on the boy's face as he says: "Dry ones, not wet from the rain!". Nobody buys and, still painting a picure of the family he supports, he'll face into death.
