Caught out by the US visa change

US President Donald Trump wants to halt all visa applications from seven countries deemed to be a terrorist threat for 30 days. The countries affected are reported to be Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

Someone likely to be affected by a visa ban is Armen, an Iranian software engineer working in Arlington, Virginia. He moved to the US to study in 2012. His wife Marianne, also from Iran, joined him the following year.

Because she needed to renew her dependent's visa, Marianne returned to Iran last year. She's only just heard that the visa is now ready to be picked up from the US embassy in neighbouring Armenia.

Armen says, they've no idea if she'll now be able to rejoin him back in the US. He spoke to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Mike Johnson.
