Rail strikes 'caused unbelievable hardship'
Sir Nicholas Soames told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4's The Westminster Hour that the government should consider introducing new legislation to restrict strikes on the rail system.
The Conservative MP β whose Mid Sussex constituents have been affected by the strikes on Southern trains β said βwhat has happened on the Brighton line is absolutely appalling...jobs ruined, lives ruined".
However, he cautioned a longer term plan of action and not one made "in the heat of combat."
