How Computers Transformed the Office
Word processors, translation tools and databases were all new technology once upon a time.
"There is no need to write out a rough copy by hand first and then type it up neatly and be very careful. You can do your rough copy on the computer and change that. And change it again and again."
"On a word processor you can make the letters bigger - or smaller - and move the words around, you can save it. You can analyse numbers and store lists of names and addresses."
This is an episode of Computers at Work which was first broadcast in July 1997.
