'Humane, sensitive and entertaining'
Westminster reacts to Ed Balls' departure from Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking to the Westminster Hour's Carolyn Quinn, the former Liberal Democrat MP and Business Secretary Vince Cable said: βHe emerged as a really rather likeable character, which was not the stereotype that people had of him beforehand. I think thatβs why people voted for him. He was perfectly humane, quite sensitive and entertaining."
Labour MP Rachel Reeves, who served under Ed Balls as shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, said: "Thereβs certainly still a place for him in the political debate. Itβs up to him to decide what his future is but itβs been great fun watching him in Strictly. I think the public have seen a side of him that they didnβt see before.β
