Edward and Henry’s story, told by Eddie Redmayne
This is Edward and Henry’s story, told by Eddie Redmayne.
Edward was 6 when his little brother Henry was born. But the excitement of his arrival soon turned to worry and distress as baby Henry was diagnosed with a brain tumour at just 6 months.
During this time Edward was left feeling very anxious as his family spent months away at the hospital with Henry. But there was support for Edward, thanks to a play therapist, called Anne, who is funded by Children in Need. She helped Edward to talk through his feelings and gave him the reassurance he needed.
Thankfully Henry got better and the family started to plan a future and a holiday of a lifetime to Florida. But just a week after telling Edward about the holiday he then found a lump on his leg and he too was diagnosed with cancer. It needed immediate treatment.
During his numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, Anne, came back to support Edward. Edward and Henry’s Mum says her help has been invaluable and she has helped the whole family.
Edward says his one focus now is to get back up and walking but both boys have thankfully ended their treatment and are now back at home as a family again.
