The senior commissioning editor explains why the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World Service changed the format of the final US Presidential Debate, and we get the lowdown on the next Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 100 Women season.
Over To You received several complaints after the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World Service's live-streaming of the first two US Presidential debates. People were angered by the amount of interruptions to this 90-minute break-free broadcast. Since then the network made some changes and the third and final debate was broadcast with far fewer interruptions. Senior Commissioning Editor, Steve Titherington tells Rajan why they made this decision and underlines the thinking behind the original format.
Also, why does the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ need a 100 Women season? Editor, Fiona Crack tells Rajan why there is still work to be done in achieving gender parity.
