'The dog that makes my life better'

29-year-old Sally Whitney has a number of debilitating conditions that have left her needing a wheelchair and 24-hour care.
Having an assistance dog has given her a level of independence she never thought possible.
Charity Canine Partners says that it is struggling to keep up with requests for assistance dogs, with applications increasing four-fold in the last 10 years.
Each dog costs Β£20,000 from selection as a puppy to retirement and it takes two years to train them to be able to help people with complex disabilities, with everything from collecting post to fetching help in emergency situation.
