The keeper who conceded 8 seconds into his debut
Gibraltar goalkeeper Deren Ibrahim broke a footballing record during his international debut against Belgium in Monday's World Cup qualifier. However, unfortunately for Deren it wasnβt the record he would have wanted, as he conceded a goal just eight seconds into the match. Belgium then went on to secure a 6-0 victory.
However, he wasnβt disheartened by the nightβs events:
βTo make your debut against Belgium in a World Cup qualifier is a massive achievement,β he told 5 live Drive.
"If you're going to make your debut, you might as well do something you're going to remember it byβ he joked.
On the stick he has received from his friends, Deren said:
βAt the end of the day they are texting me, Iβve played in a World Cup qualifier!β
