York City manager: Our poor form is my fault
York City manager Jackie McNamara says their poor form is his fault, following a bizarre statement from the club about his future.
McNamara will resign if the team fail to achieve a good result in their next game.
"It has been decided that, if the team fails to gain a positive result at Braintree Town on Saturday, the York City manager will tender his resignation," said a club statement.
The Scot met the club chairman on Wednesday following a 6-1 defeat at Guiseley the previous evening.
"The results haven't been good enough, sometimes you have to hold your hands up and let someone else come in," he told 5 live Sport's Mark Chapman.
'I take the responsibility for that. It's my fault. The disappointment for me was not the result, but the performance."
