Richardson-Walsh: Why I love being in a team

Great Britain’s Olympic gold medal-winning hockey captain Kate Richardson-Walsh says there are "special bonds and memories that last a lifetime" from being part of a team.

Having led her side to a dramatic penalty shootout triumph over the Netherlands to become Olympic champions, Richardson-Walsh was the flag bearer for the closing ceremony in Rio.

"I see people I played with 15 years ago and memories just come flooding back of the games and the training sessions,” she said.

β€œThere are always stories to share, and nobody else will ever know what that feels like apart from those people in the team at the time.”
