America's best-known female boss, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo, has been subject to an awful lot of flak recently. The criticism followed the revelation last month that its users had suffered the worst security breach in US history. Whether she can keep her job remains in doubt, but the crisis has spurred Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times into some reflections about the challenges facing any female chief executive.
