Hannah Cockroft: 'I don't want a 15-year-old to beat me'

Hannah Cockroft said the performance of 15-year-old Kare Adenegan drove her to gold in the T34 400m at Rio 2016 in a world record time.

"You know what? The 400m has always secretly been my favourite event but we've never had it so I hope for a world record, I knew I could go under the minute mark and I did," she said.

"This race is hard now, there are people here pushing me all the way, it's not easy now and no offence to Kare Adenegan but my drive is that I don't want a 15-year-old to beat me."
