Rangers need βan injection of realismβ says Ally McCoist
Former Rangers manager Ally McCoist says the club need βan injection of realismβ and has labelled their current expectations as βunrealistic.β
The club are back in the Scottish Premiership, but having lost 5-1 to Celtic in the Glasgow derby, McCoist believes Rangers are still a long way off competing with Brendan Rodgers side.
βThe expectations are unrealistic, it is as simple as that,β said the the 53-year-old, who played over 400 games for the club, as well as a spell as manager.
βThere is no real realism with what is happening.
βI said before the game (against Celtic) that I thought Rangers were two or three years away from challenging at the top of the league.
βUnless some waves a magic wand and gives them fortunes of money to spend itβs not going to happen in the next two or three years so the best thing that could happen is an injection of realism,β McCoist added
